What you can expect from TIFA
A safe place to live, people who know you and a plan you help shape, from your first day through to education, work and your next home.
What you can expect from your support
Your support should help you feel safer and become more independent. The amount and type of support will follow your agreed placement plan and change as your needs change.
- You know who is supporting you and how to contact them.
- You are listened to and involved in decisions about your support.
- You are treated with dignity, privacy and respect.
- Your culture, your faith and the people who matter to you all count here.
- Concerns are taken seriously, acted on and explained to you.
- You know what the plan is, what happens next and who is responsible.
From arrival to move-on
We agree the pace with you and the professionals involved. These are the four things we keep working on.
- 01
Settle in safely
We help you understand your home, meet the people supporting you, get the essentials in place and deal with anything urgent.
- 02
Build your routine
We work with you on appointments, college and sleep, and whatever else makes the day feel manageable.
- 03
Practise real-life skills
You can build confidence with cooking, money and travel, and with the paperwork that comes with running a home.
- 04
Plan your next home
Move-on starts early. We help you prepare for applications, affordability, visits, furnishing a home and the support you may need afterwards.
Support with daily life and independence
Your plan will be personal to you. It will focus on the skills, support and opportunities that will make the biggest difference.
Home and daily living
Cooking, cleaning, shopping, routines and looking after your space.
Health and wellbeing
Appointments, emotional wellbeing, healthy routines and getting the right help.
Education and work
College, training, applications, work experience and overcoming practical barriers.
People and community
Family contact, friendships, local activities, faith, culture and community links.
Safety and rights
Understanding risks, speaking up, making a complaint and knowing your rights.
Your goals and identity
Support that reflects who you are, what matters to you and where you want to go next.
The YP app and TIFA Connect
The two systems have different jobs. The YP app gives you a direct route to your support. TIFA Connect helps the team make sure the agreed work is recorded, checked and followed up.

- The evidence needed for managers and the Local Authority to check delivery
Young people do not receive access to internal management records. Information is protected and access is limited by role.
Studio Swansea: a community café space for young people
Studio is somewhere young people can come to hang out, meet others, learn and get practical advice. It provides a welcoming community outside the home, with people who can help when you need guidance or want to try something new.
- A welcoming place to meet and spend time
- Practical advice when you need it
- Help to learn everyday skills
- Support with education, training and work
- Creative, music and community activities
- Space to build confidence and connections
If something is not right
Tell your support worker, key worker or Service Manager. You can ask for help to make a complaint or raise a safeguarding concern. Speaking up will not affect your right to be treated fairly and safely.
